Mr Peter Carr-Boyd is a surgeon specialising in hepatobiliary (liver, pancreas, gallbladder and bile duct), upper gastrointestinal (stomach, oesophagus), and transplant surgery. He is dedicated to providing individualised, prompt and thorough care.
Peter completed a Bachelor of Medical Science at the University of New South Wales and a Bachelor of Medicine/Bachelor of Surgery at the University of Sydney, graduating with Honours. Following this he undertook five years of general surgical training in a number of rural and metropolitan hospitals where he gained extensive experience in elective and emergency general surgical conditions and was awarded the Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons. Peter then spent two years of post-fellowship training completing The Australian and New Zealand Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary Association Fellowship program at Auckland City Hospital and The Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in Sydney. Peter spent another year training in liver transplantation at Auckland City Hospital. During his year in Sydney, Peter was an Honorary Fellow at The Children's Hospital Westmead, where he gained further experience in paediatric liver transplantation. Peter has completed a Master of Surgery focusing on the impact of the timing of surgery and chemotherapy in the treatment of colorectal cancer liver metastases.
1. Minimally invasive procedures for benign and malignant tumours for Liver, Pancreas, Stomach, Adrenal and Spleen
2. General surgical procedures including laparoscopic cholecystectomy and minimally invasive hernia repair.
3. Diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy (gastroscopy and colonoscopy)
